I started my career as an auditor in financial audit and transferred to the Investigation Unit in 2003 being involved in high-risk investigations at government institutions, whilst studying for my LLB, a Certified Fraud Examiner and Recognised Government Auditor. In 2018, I contributed to the drafting and approval of the Public Audit Act amendments and regulations which gives effect to the AGSA's additional powers and authority to enact consequence management and accountability in public sector. Subsequently established the Material Irregularity Unit in 2019 that manages the implementation of the amendments to the Public Audit Act, which gives the AGSA the powers to raise material irregularities and to enforce actions on accounting officers/authorities of government institutions to address material non-compliances with legislation, fraud/theft, breach of fiduciary duty and determining the impact such as financial loss to the State, loss/misuse of material public resource, and substantial harm to public sector institutions/general public.
